This evening, after supper, we went on a family outing to the duck pond in the park near our house. Iris has been wanting to go there to feed the ducks since we discovered them this fall, but we never quite managed to get around to doing it before winter came.
The minute we got out of the car, the ducks made a beeline straight for us - it was obvious they knew exactly what to expect. They came right up to our feet honking and quacking and all but snatching the bread from our fingers. Iris loved it! I think it was so great that she was able to get right in their midst and see them up close like that. It was fun - definitely something we will be doing again. Todd discovered that it's also a fish pond, so he and Iris will probably be back with their fishing poles the next nice weekend!
