Our Very Own Music Monday

It's time once again to share with you some music from one of the bands we currently can't get enough of at the Bumgarner house. If these guys were the soundtrack of our summer, I would say The Avett Brothers are definitely the soundtrack of our lives right now. They are in turns mellow and upbeat and have a folksy, bluegrassy sound we all love - the girls included.

"For Today"

"Bella Donna"

I'll end with a song that's not from The Avett Brothers, but it's a family favorite nonetheless. This is one of Iris' absolute all-time best loved songs. And when I say loved, I mean LOVED! I think the number of times I've heard this song numbers into infinity! In fact, the first time we ever heard her say the word "again" when she was tiny was when she shouted it from the backseat on the way to church after listening to it. Our girl seems to have banjo in her blood. Hmmm...I wonder where she gets that from? (I'm looking at you, Dad!)

Hearing "I Saw The Light" is so reminiscant of dad playing his banjo and singing that song. It's the kind of song that makes you want to sing aloud and raise your arms. No wonder Iris loves it! The banjo gets in your soul!

I love how you and Todd are always listening to new music. It's very beneficial to us!

Meghan, I have read some Piper that was hard for me to track with. This book is not - deep stuff, but surprisingly easy read. Hope you join us!

My Avett Brother faves are still:

-"St. Josephs's"
-"Murder in the City"
-"The Greatest Sum"

David Crowder rockin' it to "I Saw the Light" never gets old....or maybe it did on a few of those trips to church.
